Remove Lollipop virus

What is Lollipop virus
Lollipop virus refers to an adware infection that shows you advertisements. Adware is one of the more annoying infections because it constantly fills your screen with ads you do not want to see, all for the sake of getting revenue. While not as dangerous as other infections, it’s not entirely harmless either. The ads that adware shows you are not always safe as they are not checked before being displayed to you. They could expose you to scam content or even malware. This is why it’s not a good idea to engage with any ads while adware is present on the computer. And the sooner you remove Lollipop virus, the better.
Adware doesn’t just appear out of nowhere. It is installed by users themselves, even though they do it unknowingly. Adware, among other infections, is often attached to popular freeware programs as an extra offer. If those offers are not deselected during freeware installation, they install alongside. So if you have this adware installed on your device, try to remember which freeware could have brought it along.
Adware installation methods
Like we have mentioned just above, adware, browser hijackers and potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) use software bundling to install unnoticed. A lot of free program come with unwanted offers attached to them, and you need to deselect them when installing freeware. If the offers are unnoticed and are not deselected, they are permitted to install alongside the freeware.
To avoid these unnecessary installations, pay attention to what software you install and how you do it. The most important thing is to opt for Advanced (Custom) settings when installing anything. Those settings, unlike Default, will make all offers visible. When you can see them, you can deselect them. Always uncheck all of the boxes.
What does Lollipop virus do
Like the name suggests, adware’s main purpose is to show you advertisements when you browse the Internet. Lollipop adware can affect all your main browsers, including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. No matter which browser you use, ads will follow you everywhere. They will appear in various forms, from pop-ups and pop under ads to banners.
Interacting with adware ads is not recommended. Adware does not check whether the ads it shows you are safe so you could easily be exposed to some dangerous ones. You could be tricked into installing some kind of malware, or engaging in a scam. This is why it would be best if you avoided all ads until you remove Lollipop virus.
It should be mentioned that adware tracks users as they browse and collects information about them. It will collect information like your IP address, geographical location, what sites you visit, what you search for, and so on. The information would be used to make ads you would be more likely to click on, and the data would be shared with unknown third-parties.
Lollipop removal
Adware can be difficult to remove manually, so we do not suggest manual Lollipop virus removal. Instead, opt to delete Lollipop automatically. This would be easier as the anti-spyware program would do everything for you. However, if you want to uninstall Lollipop virus manually, we will provide instructions below this report.
