What is Tikotin?
Tikotin.com is a browser hijacker that can enter your system and cause settings modifications without your permission. It is practically identical to lasaoren.com, astromenda.com, vosterain.com and some other programs of this type. It is compatible with all major browsers like IE, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. You should not trust this search engine as it will not provide you with legitimate search results. Tikotin.com comes bundled with freeware and shareware and usually slithers into your system unnoticed. The program is not beneficial in any way and may in fact expose you to various online security problems. You should not hesitate to delete Tikotin.com from your computer, if you want to keep it safe and protected.
How does Tikotin.com work?
As it has already been mentioned, Tikotin.com comes bundled with free third party software. It is distributed using bundling method, because that is the easiest way to get access to a computer system. Since most users do not pay attention to freeware installation, they do not notice how they allow additional applications to get installed along with the program that they chose. The same goes for Tikotin.com. If you recently installed freeware and skipped through the installation wizard, you agreed to allowing the hijacker to enter your PC. Next time, be sure to choose Advanced installation and deselect all unnecessary applications that are offered to you.
Once Tikotin.com enters your system, it replaces your home page and default search engine. This engine is not trustworthy and if you start using it you will not get genuine results. You will, however, see a pop-up appear every time you hit ‘Search’, while your results will be filled with sponsored links. Moreover, the hijacker is also responsible for various advertisements that you see on pages that you visit. We do not recommend clicking on these adverts as they may turn out to be fake. You could risk infecting your computer with malware or disclosing your personal details to cyber criminals. You should not tolerate these features of the application. Terminate Tikotin.com as soon as you can and return to normal web browsing.
How to remove Tikotin.com from my PC?
It is clear that you need to delete Tikotin.com as the program brings nothing but trouble. It exposes you to unsafe content, slows down your Internet connection and monitors your online behavior. There are two ways you can get rid of Tikotin.com: automatic or manual removal. We recommend the first option as it is more reliable. If you download and install a malware removal tool, you will be able to scan your PC, detect all components of the hijacker and remove Tikotin.com completely. You can also use the program to terminate other potentially harmful files and applications that may be on your PC. Moreover, the anti-malware utility will continue being helpful in the future as it also functions as a real-time protection against various online infections like spyware, Trojans, rootkits, adware, worms, and so on. You will not have to worry about your online safety as long as you have it installed.
An alternative solution to Tikotin.com removal is to complete it manually by deleting the program that it came bundled with, resetting your browser settings and fixing your Target line. If you complete all three of these tasks, you should be able to get rid of Tikotin.com for good. Manual removal may turn out to be rather complicated which is why we have prepared instructions that you are welcome to use.
