What is Websave?
Websave is advertised as a browser extension that will display various offers, coupons and discounts in your browsers and thus help you save money while shopping online. The program has an official webpage websavers.info where it can be downloaded. It can also come bundled with other free software. The extension is compatible with all popular browsers including Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. However, on different browsers in is installed under different names.
On Mozilla, for example, you will find it listed as weebsaveo. Unfortunately, the program does a bit more than what is said in its advertisement. It is not very likely that you will find it useful or that it will help you save any money. We recommend you delete Websave from your system.
How does Websave work?
First thing you should know about Websave is that it will provide you with various ads, pop-ups and banners that will appear everywhere you go online and not just on the shopping related pages. You will see this commercial data every time you use your browser and most of it will be completely useless to you. It is important to know that the ads that Websave provides you with belong to third parties and the program itself is not responsible for their content. You interact with the third party webpages at your own risk and if you get scammed you will have no one to blame but yourself. We would not recommend downloading any software from the promoted sites as it may very well turn out to be malicious. Avoid all advertisements until you terminate Websave.
Like it has already been mentioned above, Websave can come bundled with freeware and shareware. Ad-supported programs are often bundled with free software, because that is the easiest way for them to enter your computer system unnoticed. If you do not pay attention to the installation process, you agree to these programs being installed. Next time try to avoid potentially unwanted applications. Choose Advanced installation and decline all additional offers. That way you will be able to keep your PC safe.
