What is iWin Toolbar?
iWin Toolbar is promoted as a browser extension that will allow you an easy access to your favorite websites, games, radio, weather reports and more. It claims that it will present you with relevant content like “important news and announcements” and provide you with “hand-picked links”. iWin Toolbar is nothing more than a browser hijacker. Like other Conduit programs which are very similar to this one, iWin Toolbar modifies your browser settings without your permission. You will also start noticing ads everywhere you go and your search results will be modified as well.
iWin Toolbar usually comes bundled with freeware. If you did not even notice that you installed it and want to get rid of iWin Toolbar keep reading this article to find out how.
How does iWin Toolbar work?
The first thing that happens when iWin Toolbar enters your computer system is your home page changes to search.conduit.com and your default search provider is replaced by iWin3 Customized Web Search. All of this is done without your notice or permission. You will be able to reset your browsers to normal only after you remove iWin Toolbar.
Next you will start noticing that iWin Toolbar keeps redirecting you to websites that are of no interest to you. You will also see that your search results are altered to include various links and ads. The hijacker will even record your browsing history in order to make the ads seem more appealing. The reason they want you to click on them is because this is how the developers of iWin Toolbar make profit. Keep in mind that the links provided may not be safe therefore you should avoid them. Some of the ads may lead you to corrupted websites where your PC could easily be infected by malware. In order to prevent that from happening you should uninstall iWin Toolbar from your system.
How to delete iWin Toolbar?
If want to be completely sure that you are rid of iWin Toolbar or any other infection that may be on your PC you should download and install an anti-malware program that will scan your files and terminate iWin Toolbar or any other threat. You will also be able to stay safe as the anti-malware tool, e.g. Spyhunter, will prevent infections from accessing your system in the future. If, however, you want to remove the hijacker manually you can do that as well. All you need to do is follow the instructions provided below. Please note that after manual hijacker’s removal you should scan your PC to make sure it is clean.
