Remove boggles.co

What is boggles.co
boggles.co is a browser hijacker that will make changes to your browser and set the website as your homepage. These changes, along with the hijacker’s installation are done without your permission. This kind of behaviour is why hijackers are classified as such. It should be mentioned that they are not serious computer infections but can be quite annoying to deal with. If you find that your browser is constantly redirecting you to boggles.co, you definitely have a hijacker installed. The website is promoting a questionable search engine, which would insert sponsored links among legitimate results in order to redirect you. Some of those redirects could lead you to dangerous websites, which is why hijackers are not entirely harmless. The sooner you delete boggles.co, the better.
It’s very likely that the hijacker installed via freeware bundles without your explicit permission. It could have been attached to popular free software you installed, and you did not notice. The following section of the report will explain how you can avoid hijackers when installing free programs.
Hijackers are attached to freeware
Software bundling is essentially adding additional items (hijackers, adware and potentially unwanted programs) to programs. Most free programs will come with these offers, so if you install freeware regularly, your computer can quickly fill up with junk programs.
It is possible to avoid the extra offers when installing programs, and it’s quite simple. If you pay attention to the program’s installation process and choose Advanced (Custom) settings when given the option, you will be able to deselect all offers. If Advanced settings show that something has been added, all you really need to do is uncheck the box(es).
Most users install programs in Default settings because they are recommended, but those settings hide everything that’s attached to the program, which is why hijackers are such common infections.
What does the hijacker do?
As soon as the hijacker installs, it will make changes to your browser. Your Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers will have boggles.co set as the homepage, and redirect you there every time you open your browser. These changes may be difficult to reverse while the hijacker is still present on the computer.
The website tries to imitate Google in hopes that you will not notice the change. However, the changes become apparent pretty quickly. If you use the search engine, you will get weird results leading to questionable websites. You could be redirected to websites that host malicious content or are promoting scams.
We should also mention that the hijacker will track you as your browse, collecting information about what you search for, what sites you visit, what content you engage with, your geographical location and your IP address. This information could later be shared with unknown third-parties.
